Following the success of last season, we return with twelve all new books.

These books are:

Lavinia, by Ursula le Guin.
the Autograph Man, by Zadie Smith.
Gaudy Night, by Dorothy L. Sayers.
Lord of Light, by Roger Zelazny.
We Need to Talk About Kevin, by Lionel Shriver.
The Color Purple, by Alice Walker.
The Host, by Stephanie Meyer.
The Dark Side of Love, by Rafik Shami.
Middlemarch, by George Eliot.
the Line of Beauty, by Alan Hollinghurst.
Cotillion, by Georgette Heyer.
Contest, by Matthew Riley.

Our first episode was so long we had to split it into two. In part one we are overjoyed by Cotillion, mildly bemused by Lavinia, and fail to be captivated by the Dark Side of Love despite the murders and conspiracies.

Next week! Stephanie Meyer, Roger Zelazny, and Matt Riley, Bam!

Good Lord, I'm an endless well of plosives. Sorry folks. :(

Well, overall I think sound quality has gone up - I think, I hope? I suppose the moral of this story is to invest in some, err, plosive screens...
Arthur B at 11:44 on 2011-09-12
Sound quality and editing are great, I think it's just sloppy mic technique on my part.
Kyra-Wardog at 12:12 on 2011-09-12
Naw, I was just too lazy to make pop screens.
Arthur B at 12:57 on 2011-09-12
I guess we've all learned that you should never do what I was trying to do to that microphone without protection.

Aw hells, yeah! We're back in business!

My Fall just got about eight times more awesome.

(Ooh, Alice Walker. Ooh, The Color Purple. I've never read that one, but I've heard some pretty good things. This should be fun.)

Incidentally, is this the Mysterious Project of Mystery we've occasionally heard about over the last couple months, or is that still to come?
Arthur B at 15:45 on 2011-09-12
I don't think we could commit ourselves to an even more mysterious (and time-consuming) project and still keep our day jobs. :)

What Arthur says :) Although I do have MANY podcasts lined up in my editing queue....probably more than any sane person would want to listen to :P

Guess we'd better start measuring me for a straitjacket ...

You reviewed Reilly without me?

Ah well, when I have the chance to borrow some bandwidth from work I'll have a listen :-) The selection does look interesting.

You reviewed Reilly without me?

Think of it as a tribute.

I think the term is "reprieve". ;)
