Haha! What a splendid phrase! Actually that's how I felt about a lot of Rome. But since I seem to be the only person in the world who believes that it was not only bad history but bad drama as well, I have to entertain the possibility that my reaction to the inaccuracy has compromised my objective artistic judgment.
Still, my real problem with Rome wasn't that it was bad history or that it was bad drama but that it was a colossal missed opportunity: there is an absolutely awesome drama to be made out of the history of the late republic, but Rome wasn't it.
